Our Challenge for you at Magnolia-licious™ this week is ‘All That Flutters/Things With Wings’ For those of you that know me well, you will be aware that I’ve been having a lot of trouble with pain in my back and shoulder over the past months and at times it really gives my creativity a hit. When I saw the theme of Things with Wings I took some time out to just play with a wood piece I’ve had sitting around for weeks, Butterflies are not a hard ask and will usually fit on most projects in my style so why not! Well, as you will see from the project that follows and the many photos, it grew and grew, I had a wonderful time playing. It took much longer than normal due to the constant rest breaks, but so worthwhile, I am very pleased with the result

This is what I came up with:

My Tildas are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Cryogen White Card and coloured with Copic Sketch Markers. The Copics used are as follows: skin: E11, E00, E000, R20 hair: E57, E55, E99, E53, E50 clothes: RV04, RV02, RV00, RV0000, W5, W3, W1, W00 I added some Kindy Glitz here and there for effect

There is a little collage inside in keeping with the theme:

There is another collage on the back of this one so it looks finished from all sides but it was a little too difficult to photograph through the lantern

The top level has a lovely floral bouquet and a pretty tassel to enhance the oriental feel, the metal butterfly on the right has been Frantaged with Shabby Pink and layered with another sweet butterfly:

As I’m sure you can see, I had a lot of fun just playing with this wood piece, It was a wonderful choice for the challenge theme and lent itself perfectly to some of the new Magnolia Sakura collection along with some old favourites too
