I’ve had a few requests lately about how to created the inked dies I use on my creations. Today I’m going to show you how to create the die layers of my card in the post above. For this tutorial I’m using 2 Marianne Designs dies Petra Large Oval and Anja’s Vintage Decorations
Place the dies on your chosen cardstock and run through your die cutting machine, I use the Spellbinders Grand Calibur but a Cuttlebug or Big Shot will work just fine
Cut then emboss using a rubber mat (this mat is included with your Grand Calibur but may be purchased to fit your other die cut machines. When embossing with the mat place your die face up, place mat over the top, then your chosen cutting plate, this will add extra dimension to your die cut)
Before removing the card from the metal die, add ink to the embossed areas using a sponge dauber in a circular motion
Add your inked dies to your card layers as desired
Diana at the Magnolia-licious™ store has a great range of dies from many companies, why not pop in and take a look, you’re sure to find some you like, If you don’t see the particular one you are after drop Diana an email and ask if she can get it in for you. Prices are discounted, you get excellent customer service and what’s more, you get to earn 2% credit to be applied to future purchases. What could be better than that!
I hope to see many wonderful cards from you all using pretty inked and embossed dies
Julie
